Celebrity Cruises’ Captain Kate shares her next move
The cruise ship captain and social media star unexpectedly left her mega ship.

Captain Kate McCue amassed more than 1 million social media followers during her time as captain of the Celebrity Beyond mega-ship.
The beloved captain shocked the world in late February when she announced that she had resigned from her position and left Celebrity after more than two decades with its parent company, Royal Caribbean.

Captain Kate’s next move was just revealed
McCue is joining Four Seasons Yachts, which is a new ultra-luxury cruise line set to launch next year. Unlike the mega-ships Captain Kate is used to, the initial Four Seasons Yacht will have just 95 suites.
In an Instagram post announcing the move, McCue said “I’m thrilled to join an amazing team, introducing a new category of luxury and excellence to our guests at sea.” She went on to express excitement to help launch a brand-new cruise line on an “incredible prototype vessel.”
Four Seasons is best known as a luxury hotel brand, and this represents its expansion into the cruising industry. Not much is known about the new ship itself, although the company describes it as a “floating masterpiece of design and hospitality.”
The new ultra-luxury line will sail mostly week-long itineraries starting in January 2026, and as you might expect from such an intimate and luxury-focused vessel, they aren’t cheap. For example, the maiden voyage is a 7-night Caribbean cruise that features stops in Antigua and St. Lucia and starts at $32,500 per suite.
