Believe it or not, it's a practice that's been around for hundreds of years, dating as far back as the 1700s when Queen Charlotte purchased her fine china from potter Josiah Wedgwood, leading him to earn the title "Potter to Her Majesty" and name the dishes "Queen's Ware."
