Carnival Cruise Line makes big main dining room announcement

For the most part, Carnival Cruise Line offers the same dinner menus in its main dining room from cruise to cruise.

In other words, if you take a 7-night cruise on one of the line’s ships and take another 7-nighter on the same ship, the dinner menus will mostly be the same for each night of the cruise. The elegant night menu on both cruises will likely be the same, and other dishes will typically appear in the rotation on the same nights of comparable cruises.

One big exception is the holiday menu. For example, if your cruise happens to include the Thanksgiving holiday, you’ll find a special menu with festive choices, such as a traditional turkey dinner. There’s also a special Christmas Day menu offered.

However, Carnival has started to place more emphasis on its special holiday menus over the past year or so. For example, the 2024 Thanksgiving holiday menu was certainly a step above what has historically been offered.

The cruise line has started to roll out special holiday menus for other less-major holidays. Just this past week, Carnival served its first St. Patrick’s Day menu to cruisers on all of its ships, and it just announced another.

Carnival shares its next special menu

If you cruise during the Easter holiday, you’ll find all sorts of holiday-themed activities taking place aboard the ship. In previous years, these have included egg hunts, Easter-themed bingo and trivia events, and Easter services.

We now know that this year’s main dining room menu will be a special one for Easter Sunday. Carnival brand ambassador John Heald recently shared a special menu that will be offered throughout the fleet.

The short description is that the Easter menu looks quite similar to Carnival’s elegant night menu, but with some Easter-specific items. Like the elegant night menu, it features upgraded appetizers such as a short rib croquette, as well as a filet mignon entrée choice. And at the top of the menu, there are a few special items, including:

Appetizer: Deviled eggs with mashed avocado and crispy bacon bits.

Entrees: Festive caprese salad with seared ahi tuna (served cold), honey mustard glazed ham with pineapple relish, and a roasted lemon-pepper chicken.

Dessert: Spiced easter parfait with pumpkin puree and a butter cream nest. And it’s worth noting that there’s a no-sugar-added carrot cake listed in the regular dessert section.

Cruisers are excited to try it

In his post, Heald asked cruisers what they would order on the Easter menu, so most of the comments involve preferred meals. The deviled egg appetizer and glazed ham entrée were particularly popular, and most of the comments were very positive overall.

More Carnival dining news:

Heald follower Pam Beemer commented, “That is a very hard menu to choose from. Everything sounds delish.” Sheri Nowatski agreed, “The Easter Dinner itself looks fantastic; I'd have either the salmon or the chicken.”

There were a few negative comments, but most of them had to do with the menu only being offered on one night by cruisers who are not scheduled to travel during Easter.

In addition to the special Easter dinner menu, Heald also shared that there will be a special lunch menu served in the Steakhouse on cruises that are at sea on Easter Sunday, and that it will be available to book once on board.
