I live in Pittsburgh, which is (to much debate) part of the Midwest. Regardless of your argument, one thing is true: It gets Minnesota levels of cold here in the winter. As a shopping writer, heated gear is one of my specialties. From heated blankets to hand warmers and space heaters, I've tried them all.

One of my favorite pieces of heated gear is the Ororo Heated Jacket, currently on sale for $136 at Walmart. It's my go-to jacket when the temperature dips below 10 degrees. It even beats out some of my puffer jackets

Get it.

The jacket's heating system covers the chest and upper back and can be set to three different temperatures: high (130 degrees Fahrenheit); medium (105 degrees Fahrenheit); and low (95 degrees Fahrenheit). This heated jacket also has a long-lasting runtime of up to 10 hours. The lower the temperature setting, the longer your jacket will stay on.

When the jacket does run out of battery, simply use a USB-C charger to recharge the battery. In fact, the battery pack doubles as a charger for your other devices. Fellex insulation, a water- and wind-resistant outer shell, and a detachable hood round out this jacket's warm features.

Although I enjoy wearing this jacket on the medium setting, this jacket is well-insulated enough that I stay warm when it's off. Other shoppers agree with me, including this one, who writes, "It is a very warm thick coat that is very comfortable even without the heat on."

"Best winter purchase ever," another shopper adds. "I have never made a better purchase for cold weather. This makes taking the dog out in sub-zero temperatures tolerable. I can warm up my car without freezing. Even my cold office at work is more bearable. I will purchase another when needed."

Sure, the Midwest is cold, but I'm plenty prepared for chilly weather. You can be just as ready when you shop the Ororo Heated Jacket, now $136 at Walmart.
