Royal Caribbean passenger sounds alarm on growing cruiser problem
Royal Caribbean passengers are warning others to watch out for an unexpected bad cruise behavior.

If you’re taking a cruise vacation, you probably expect that you’ll run into some bad cruise behaviors at some point during your voyage.
In general, cruisers are infamous for hogging pool chairs, ignoring dining room dress codes, being inconsiderate of others, and displaying poor etiquette in various onboard situations.

While these things can be frustrating to witness, most cruisers seeking a relaxing vacation try to avoid letting other passengers’ behavior ruin their sailings. Cruising offers so much to enjoy and you’ll surely appreciate your vacation more by focusing on all the good parts of the experience instead of paying attention to other passengers’ rude cruise antics.
That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be aware of growing passenger problems to watch out for on board the ship, however.
Recently, a Royal Caribbean passenger shared a warning about one, and any cruiser who's planning to participate in the beloved cruise tradition of cabin door decorating will want to keep it in mind as they prepare for their next sailing.

Passengers are stealing decorative door magnets from other cruisers
“Just got off Utopia of the Seas and ended up talking to some people who had all their door magnets stolen,” SignificantLion45 wrote in the Royal Caribbean community on Reddit. “I personally don't decorate my door but think it's cute when others do. A lady was telling me that they'd had custom magnets made for someone's birthday and all were stolen. This included several doors on different floors.”
The passenger wanted to give other cruisers a heads-up about the situation because many cruisers go to great lengths to design custom magnets to display on their cabin doors during their cruises to add extra fun and personality to their sailings. The idea that those magnets may be stolen is something that many cruisers wouldn’t even consider.
“If you were planning to decorate your door, maybe think twice,” SignificantLion45 suggested.

A number of passengers chimed in on the Reddit thread to note that door magnet theft isn’t just a problem on Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas. It seems to be a growing problem fleetwide.
“I was on Odyssey of the Seas a few weeks ago and even all the ‘do not disturb’ magnets were stolen off everyone’s doors. Cabin staff were beyond flustered,” shredmaster3000 wrote.
Apparently, it’s not just kids and teens swiping door magnets as some might expect.
“I had a few magnets stolen on Wonder of the Seas. I then went on Explorer of the Seas. I took pics of my door. I walked downstairs and came back [and a] few were missing,” Spiritual-Page-7511 explained. “I had security look at tapes. They retrieved my magnets from the woman. Yes, a grown woman.”
Door magnet theft isn’t exclusive to Royal Caribbean ships
Although door magnet theft seems to be remarkably common on Royal Caribbean ships, other cruise lines experience it too.
“We were on a cruise last year on Princess, and passed by a room that had door magnets of all the ships this family has sailed on together,” reallydfun noted in the Reddit thread. “On Day 4 or Day 5, there was a broadcast that said something to the effect of ‘whoever took the cruise ship-themed door magnets, please return to guest services, no questions asked.’ We went to check and sure enough the room that had all those wonderful ship magnets; it was all gone.”

Door magnet theft can even happen on a magical Disney cruise.
“We watched a grown man take a magnet off our door on a Disney cruise. It happens everywhere,” Signal_Performer_206 explained.
Although cruise ship security teams can often help passengers recover stolen door magnets thanks to security camera footage, cruisers may want to take care not to decorate with any magnets that they don’t want to risk losing. Going all out with custom-designed magnets might not be the best approach, as one cruiser pointed out.
“It happens all the time on just about any ship. I still decorate my door because it makes my door easier to recognize, but my decor always comes straight from the Dollar Tree for that reason,” JennJayBee commented.
