Key Las Vegas Strip casino gets new name and identity
An iconic Las Vegas Strip casino will be transformed into a celebrity-themed resort.
The Las Vegas Strip's 4.2-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard is evolving with plans for new hotel developments, a new baseball stadium, and renovations and rebranding of several existing resorts.
The historic Tropicana Casino & Resort shut down in April 2024 and was imploded on Oct. 9, 2024, to make way for the development of a $1.5 billion, 33,000-seat baseball stadium for Major League Baseball's Athletics, with construction beginning in April 2025.
