Carnival Cruise Line testing popular new dining option
Carnival’s brand ambassador shared a look at a new offering the cruise line is testing that passengers are excited to try.

Carnival Cruise Line recently revealed details on innovations coming with its next megaships, but many of its loyal passengers are more excited to learn about enhancements to the line’s existing offerings.
Carnival promises to soon deliver new dining, beverage, and entertainment experiences on its existing ships that will draw from features and concepts that will be introduced on its new ships.

For some passengers, enhancements to the onboard experience are already beginning to take shape.
While on board one of Carnival’s Miami-based cruise ships on its embarkation day, the cruise line’s brand ambassador, John Heald, shared a video of a new embarkation day lunch option that the cruise line is testing on the ship.
Since one of the first things many passengers do upon boarding a cruise is head to the buffet for lunch, this additional lunch option can help cut down on overcrowding and improve the passenger experience on embarkation day. In addition to offering lunch on the Lido deck, Carnival Sunrise is testing lunch service on the Promenade deck next to the RedFrog Pub.
“Interesting test on this ship and lunch being served next to the pub where you can get a Guy Fieri burger. Take a look,” Heald wrote as he shared a short video of the offerings on his Facebook page.

Carnival Cruise Line tests new embarkation day lunch option
Transcript:
John Heald: I was here just half an hour ago and the wonderful setup team were doing what they call...setup. But now the chefs are here. Hello chef!
And now we can see that this, outside of the RedFrog Pub, we've got the cookies, and we've got cookies and all the wonders, and of course, the favourite funfetti cheesecake that is so popular. I don't know why I've never had it but everybody raves about it.
But don't forget here is another place where you can get the SMC LTOP, which is the Guy's Burgers. And you can get a Guy's Burger by the RedFrog Pub here on the Carnival Sunrise, and chicken tenders.
And what's that green stuff called? I've never seen that before. Broccoli. Now, I'll have to ask Google what that is; I've never seen that before.

And we've got fritto misto — that looks lovely, and all this stuff here, and salad.
And there you go, so you don't have to go to Lido if you're coming on the Sunrise. Come here, see Uncle Ben and the guys and the chefs, and all of this.
It's all, of course, included so you don't have to pay anything, just come down here then you can go buy yourself a beer.
You can drop things on the floor and 800 crew members will be there to pick it all up for you.
And that's right here on the Carnival Sunrise. It's lunchtime.
Carnival passengers approve of the additional lunch option
In comments on the video, a number of passengers noted that offering another lunch option beyond the Lido deck is a welcome enhancement that would improve the embarkation day experience on many of the cruise line’s ships.
“As you know it is nuts on the Lido on embarkation day so anything like the above is a great chance for guest to not be crowded on the Lido,” Nancy Deal Moore wrote.

“I love having options like this. One of the best features of Sunshine is the BBQ lunch, and the Cuban bites being available at Havana Bar. If the main buffet is too busy, sometimes I'll opt for one of the others,” Josh Stanley commented. “Vista and Excel class have lots of options so this isn't a problem on those, but older ships need these sorts of alternatives.”
