Carnival Cruise Line shares two critical warnings for passengers

Carnival and other cruise lines have some strict rules for important reasons, and breaking certain rules can have serious repercussions.

Ignoring key rules or trying to sneak a banned item on board the ship is never a good idea.

For safety and security reasons, cruise lines really do enforce their rules and restrictions. In some cases, you can even get kicked off the ship for violating a critical rule.

But even if breaking a rule doesn’t end your cruise, it could still have unpleasant consequences for you, and even for other cruisers.

These are things that Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador John Heald wants to make clear to all passengers.

Two recent onboard situations prompted Heald to share crucial warnings for cruisers in a video posted on his popular Facebook page where he answers cruise questions and offers helpful information and guidance for Carnival cruise passengers.

The first warning reminds passengers that not following cruise ship bathroom rules can create big problems, while the second cautions cruisers that sneaky behavior can get you banned.

Flushing wet wipes clogs cruise ship pipes

Transcript:

John Heald: Cheers. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you are in this wonderful world. I hope you're taking great care of yourselves and of each other and welcome to this three-minute video. I have a couple of things I want to talk to you about this morning.

First of all, I won't mention the ship but we had a situation on the ship yesterday and this is where somebody had flushed something down the toilet — wet wipes.

Now, not only did it block their toilet, and it did not only have this person very upset that their toilet was blocked, but it also blocked and stopped the flushing of nine other toilets. Nine.

Now, this is because, for no other reason, this guest put the wet wipes into the toilet. Please don't. Luigi the plumber gets very upset about this, and of course, all the other guests do as well.

Listen, I'm not going to stand here or sit here and proclaim that our lavatory paper is the best toilet paper in the world. It's not but it is designed to accommodate the suction toilet system.

Please don't flush anything, anything, anything down the toilet — any other toilet paper and wet wipes and all that kind of stuff. Please don't do it because it does not just affect you but it affects others as well. So, that's that.

Smuggling alcohol on board could get you kicked off the ship

Now then, somebody, or actually, I think it was at least a dozen people, wrote to me sending me a link to a social media video on tok tik, tik snap, snap tik — one of those.

This, this is crazy, right? We have known for years that you can go on Mrs. Amazon, and you can get things to smuggle booze in, right? Whether it be hairbrushes, umbrellas, or ladies' things, we know about it, and we catch people. Don't do it.

But what absolutely drives me crazy — it makes me laugh to be very honest — is when people get on the ship and they go, “Oh look, what we smuggled on board — a tube full of vodka, ha ha ha. We're so clever.”

And they put it out and then, of course, of course, we have people monitoring social media pages, of course we do.

And then, you monitor it — people watching it — and you send it to me and you say look, look!

And then we go to their cabin, and then we find it, and then we tell them they can't cruise with us anymore.

Don't smuggle. We find it. I know, I know why people do it. I get that. But don't do it. Don't do it.

And to put it on social media is absolutely ridiculous. Bonkers.

Anyway, it makes me sad when we have to do this all for the sake of a tiny tube full of rum or whatever it is.
