Bryce Mitchell has grabbed headlines with his outrageous comments on ‘good guy’ Adolf Hitler and it is unsurprisingly not the first time the UFC featherweight has said absurd things.

The 30-year-old has launched his own ‘ArkanSanity’ podcast and begun the first episode by saying his goal is for ‘everybody to worship Jesus Christ’ and set out his religious beliefs by saying: ‘I believe the Bible is literally true, word for word.’

Things drifted away from religion, though, and Mitchell said of the leader of Nazi Germany: ‘I honestly think Hitler was a good guy, based upon my own research, not my public education and indoctrination.

He added that he does not believe the Holocaust happened, saying: ‘When you realise there’s no possible way they could’ve burned and cremated 6 million bodies, you’re gonna realise the Holocaust ain’t real.’

UFC president Dana White condemned the words, saying: ‘We reached out to Bryce immediately when we read what he said, and let him know exactly how we felt about it.

‘But what he said was beyond disgusting and he needs a real education on the facts surrounding Hitler and World War Two.’

However, what Mitchell said is of little surprise given his history of speaking out on his ridiculous beliefs.

Who is Bryce Mitchell?

The man known as Thug Nasty was born and raised in Arkansas and has made his name as a very talented martial artist, boasting a 17-2 professional record.

He is currently number 13 in the UFC featherweight rankings after a knockout victory over Kron Gracie last month.

His two defeats have come to current featherweight champion Ilia Topuria in December 2022 and to Josh Emmett in December 2023, when he was brutally knocked out by the former title challenger.

He has a wife and son, who has been the subject of some of his other controversial comments.

What did Mitchell say about Hitler?

On Hitler, Mitchell said: ‘I honestly think Hitler was a good guy, based upon my own research, not my public education and indoctrination.

‘He fought for his country, he wanted to purify it by kicking the greedy Jews out who were destroying his country and turning them all into gays.’

He added: ‘You believe your public education because you haven’t done your own research. When you realize there’s no possible way they could’ve burned and cremated 6 million bodies, you’re gonna realise the Holocaust ain’t real.’

Does he have a history of controversial statements?

Yes.

Mitchell revealed last year he intended to home-school his young son because he ‘doesn’t want him to be gay’.

‘We’re going to have to home-school all our kids or they’re all going to end up turning gay,’ he said in an Instagram video while holding his son.

‘That’s the reason I’m going to home-school Tucker, because I don’t want him to be a communist. I don’t want him to worship Satan. I don’t want him to be gay.’

Thug Nasty believes that Earth is flat and gravity doesn’t exist, among the numerous conspiracy theories he is a fan of.

Speaking in 2022 he said: ‘I’m here to call out Joe Rogan for talking c**p about me and about my mama. He’s been doing it for too long – me and my mama will tell you right now the earth is flat! It ain’t moving around at no 600-something miles-per-hour, spinning at no thousand-miles-an-hour and floating through the universe constantly, ok?

‘This earth is flat, it’s fixed and the stars and stuff rotate around us. The sun rotates around us, and I can prove that.’

He added: ‘Gravity ain’t real, it’s density. This paper, when it drops it’s because it’s more dense than the world around it, not because of some magical thing called gravity. There is no proof of gravity, brother, there’s only proof of density, that’s why hot air balloons float, because hot air is less dense.’

Mitchell has also taken aim at Elon Musk recently, accusing the owner of X of putting microchips in people’s brains and encouraging electric cars so he can turn them off when he wants to.

‘Elon Musk is a liar. He’s trying to destroy humanity,’ he told the Believe You Me podcast. ‘Anybody that’s ever trusted him, they’ve been deceived. He’s actually selling microchips that go into people’s head acting like he’s some damn doctor. Brother, that’s the mark of the beast.

‘I’m telling you, that is the type of technology that the anti-Christ is going to put in people – when you start getting these chips in the head, they’re going to monitor everything you buy, everything you sell… Basically, it’s going to be communism like the world has never seen. This technology is going to be so evil that it’s going to put all of the control of the world into the hand of one man.

‘When you see a guy like Elon Musk putting chips in people’s brains, acting like he’s a doctor – his cars suck, he’s never been to space. He can’t go to space… He knows the Earth is flat. He’s a lying rat b*stard.

‘You know why he wants electric cars, because these electric cars suck and they’re gay. The reason he’s making electric cars is because he can shut your damn car off whenever you make a mean tweet. Now he owns Twitter. They’re going to get to the point where everything is so controlled that Elon Musk presses a button and your car flies off a bridge at 200 mph, or you’re locked in it, or you just can’t start your car.’

Is he still allowed to fight again in the UFC?

Yes.

UFC president condemned his words, but said Mitchell is entitled to free speech and there would be no punishment.

‘That’s what everybody want to hear about, punishment, it’s free speech,’ said White. ‘I don’t have to love it. You don’t have to love it. You know. That’s the beautiful thing about this business. For all of you that hate Bryce Mitchell you get to see him hopefully get his ass whooped on global television.

‘You know where I am with free speech. We’re disgusted by it. I think he’s literally one of the dumbest human beings. I could probably go on for 10 minutes talking about how dumb Bryce Mitchell is. That’s the world we live in now, dumb people, people who are really stupid and really ignorant can have a voice. We don’t have to agree with it. We don’t have to like it.

‘I’m giving you mine and the UFC’s position on what he had to say. I will say this, of all the dumb and ignorant s**t I’ve heard in my life, this has to be the dumbest and most ignorant.’
