After first captivating audiences six years ago at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, De Tomaso has just unveiled the production version of the P72 supercar. The car is equipped with a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine producing 700 horsepower, blending stunning Italian bodywork with potent American V-8 power. Of course, one of the core elements of the P72’s driver-centric design is its six-speed manual transmission. Such a feature is uncommon in today’s supercars, but manually selecting gears offers a more direct connection between driver and car, making manual transmissions a coveted feature in many luxury performance vehicles. Although less than 15% of modern cars offer manual transmission options, over two dozen recent-model vehicles are still available with standard transmission.
