U.S. stocks slumped lower in early Wednesday trading, while Treasury yields and the dollar held steady, as investors braced for what could be a crucial unveiling of President Donald Trump's comprehensive tariff plan later today at the White House.

The S&P 500 was marked 59 points, or 1.05% lower in the opening minutes of trading, with the Nasdaq down 245 points, or 1.38%.
The Dow fell 355 points while the Russell 2000 slumped 25 points, or 1.28%.
