Sigourney Weaver Calls Grogu a “Little Badass” As She Talks About Joining THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU
Sigourney Weaver joining the Star Wars franchise is pretty exciting for a lot of fans. She is set to appear in The Mandalorian & Grogu, and she recently opened up about why she decided to jump into the Galaxy Far Far Away, and we have Grogu to thanklWeaver recently shared in an interview with GamesRadar+: "I get to have scenes with a little Grogu which is probably why I did the movie. And he's a little badass too.“It's going to be wonderful for people to see what Grogu is up to now because he's grown up a little bit and is capable of much more than maybe we think just watching the series."Weaver is reportedly playing New Republic Colonel Bishop, a high-ranking official sending Din Djarin on a dangerous mission. While she didn’t confirm those details, she teased:"I play a wonderful character who is, you know, in a position of authority. And I have to send the Mandalorian out on a mission on the Outer Rim where all the bad stuff happens."For someone who’s been a sci-fi powerhouse for decades, it’s surprising Weaver hadn’t stepped into Star Wars sooner. But she wasn’t actively looking to add another franchise to her resume. She said: "I admire [Star Wars], but I don't sit around wishing I was in another franchise, because I've been so lucky to be in some wonderful ones. But at the time, when I was offered it, I was delighted. I'm a great fan of Jon Favreau. I was already a great fan of The Mandalorian."With Jon Favreau at the helm and co-writing the film alongside Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to bring Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and his pint-sized apprentice back to the big screen in May 2026.The last time we saw Mando and his little Grogu in The Mandalorian Season 3, the pair had settled down together on Nevarro with Mando officially adopting Grogu as his own son.
