As Attorney General, she’s the top federal law enforcement officer, and her main responsibilities include ensuring that laws passed by the government are upheld, managing U.S. attorneys in prosecuting federal cases, and advising President Trump on legal issues.

She is also in charge of the U.S. Department of Justice, which oversees federal law enforcement agencies such as the FBI, DEA, ATF, and U.S. Marshals.

Bondi likely has a net worth of up to or more than $10 million, based on a financial disclosure with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics. Her biggest assets were shares and warrants in Trump Media & Technology Group, which were valued at between around $2 million and $10 million.

Her partner John Wakefield’s assets were valued at as much as around $6.55 million.

Pamela Bondi was born in Tampa, Florida on November 17, 1965. She was married twice and has been in a relationship with property investor John Wakefield since 2017.

Bondi graduated from King High School in Tampa in 1983. She received a bachelor of arts in criminal justice from the University of Florida in 1987 and a Juris Doctor from Stetson University's College of Law in 1990.

How did Pam Bondi make her money? Her career explained

After law school, Bondi started as a prosecutor in the Florida State Attorney’s Office for Hillsborough County, which covers Tampa. 

In 2011, she was elected as Florida’s 37th Attorney General — and its first female attorney general — and served until 2019. She accrued 28 years of employment with the State of Florida and will receive an annual lifetime pension payment for her service.

After leaving as state attorney general in 2019, Bondi joined Ballard Partners, a Tallahassee, Florida-based lobbying firm that is described as “specializing in all aspects of governmental and public affairs.” Ballard had 174 clients and generated $19.3 million in revenue in 2024, according to OpenSecrets, which tracks money in U.S. politics.

From January 2023 until she was appointed attorney general, Bondi was a consultant at Ballard, and had income exceeding $1 million, her financial disclosure showed. 

Other positions she held outside the government included consultant at America First Policy Institute (a nonprofit founded in 2021 to promote Trump’s public policy agenda), a contributor to Newsmax Broadcasting, and a board member at Make America Great Again Policies.

At Renatus LLC, a real estate investor, Bondi served as a consultant from June 2023 to March 2024, and she was compensated with shares in Digital World Acquisition Corp. valued at around $3 million.

Bondi’s financial disclosure showed that she and her partner had combined bank accounts holding cash of at least $1 million. Their liabilities were between $2 million and $10.25 million, including up to $5 million for a 30-year mortgage taken in 2021 at a 3.5% rate.
