Miami Heat Trades Jimmy Butler To the Golden State Warriors
Jimmy Butler is heading west to play for the Golden State Warriors.Sources tell ESPN that the Miami Heat traded the PF for the Warriors' Andrew Wiggins and Kyle Anderson, as well as a top-10 protected 2o25 first-round pick. The deal sees Butler turn down his $52 million USD player option for next season and will instead sign a two-year contract worth $111 million USD until the 2026-2027 season.The deal to move Butler to the Warriors took place after Kevin Durant confirmed that he is not interested in returning to the Warriors, who he played for (and won two rings) from 2016 to 2019.Butler has been playing for the Heat since 2019, but their relationship has deteriorated as of late. The franchise has suspended him thrice this season with the latest being an indefinite suspension lasting a minimum of five games.
