The Toronto Maple Leafs added another win to their Western Canadian swing without the services of Mitch Marner.

The team announced shortly before warmups on Tuesday that the forward was not available for their 6-3 win over the Calgary Flames due to a lower-body injury, for which he is listed day-to-day.

After the game, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube said he didn’t believe Marner’s injury was too serious and that he might play against the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.

It’s not clear when Marner suffered the injury, but he was absent at Monday’s practice due to “maintenance,” according to the team, and also missed Tuesday’s morning skate, after which he was labelled a game-time decision by head coach Craig Berube.

Tuesday’s matchup with the Flames was the first game Marner has missed all season.

Marner, who is eligible to sign an extension at any point, has played all 52 games for the Leafs this year, scoring 16 goals and adding 54 assists — good for fourth league-wide in scoring. He’s on pace for his seventh-consecutive point-per-game season.
