Jack’s Mannequin to celebrate 20th anniversary with first tour in 9 years

In addition to recently bringing Something Corporate back, Andrew McMahon recently revived his other classic project Jack’s Mannequin at his Holiday From Real cruise (named after a JM song) this past fall, and then announced some festival appearances (When We Were Young, Bonnaroo, Innings Fest), and now has announced a full Jack’s Mannequin tour in support of the band’s 20th anniversary. It’ll be their first tour in nearly a decade.

“Jack’s Mannequin was born out of one of the most prolific and transformative periods of my life,” he says. “The songs narrate my journey from youth to adulthood, heartbreak to marriage, cancer to remission. The health crisis at the heart of this journey often made it difficult for me to fully appreciate just how magical this music was and how powerfully it connected me to my bandmates and the audiences we played it for. It’s been nearly fifteen years since the band and I have toured this catalog exclusively and it feels like such a gift to do so at a time in my life when I feel able to truly celebrate what we created together. Jack’s was always two things: a studio project and a live band that toured relentlessly. I’m so excited to bring it all back to life onstage for the fans that made it possible to take that strange and beautiful ride.”

The “MFEO tour,” named for the band’s 2005 song, begins on June 4 in Portland, ME and runs through the US in June, with Japanese dates in September and another leg of North American shows in October and November. See all dates below.

The NYC show is at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on June 7. Tickets to all dates go on sale Friday, January 31 at 10 AM local, with various presales starting Wednesday, January 29 at 10 AM local.

Ahead of the tour, Jack’s Mannequin will also play a last minute, intimate show at Venice, CA’s The Venice West tonight (1/27). Tickets are currently sold out.
