How to break into a clique?
My son is a nurse who was very well liked on his previous floor. The hours were long, however, and included every other weekend, so after a few years, he transferred to a 7 to 3:30 job on another floor. He was telling me they are very cliquish there, and basically have not interacted personally with him, not inviting him to lunch, etc. He said he hasn't felt so lonely since he was in the fifth grade. I am not attracted to cliquish people so I had no advice to give him. He doesn't feel the same. Eating his lunch alone bothers him; having no one to joke with bothers him. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to break into a clique?
