Carnival Cruise Line passengers want more of one big food option
Guy Fieri’s burgers aren’t the only dining indulgence Carnival cruisers can’t enough of on board.

Food indulgences are one of the great pleasures of a cruise vacation for many passengers.
Some say there’s nothing better than the refreshing taste of unlimited soft serve ice cream cones by the pool, while others are convinced that burgers and fries just taste better at sea.

On any Carnival cruise ship, passengers can get their fill of those, along with many other treats. However, there’s one cruise food craving that can only be satisfied by sailing on a select few ships in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet.
Many passengers are hankering for the popular onboard dining option to roll out to more ships, according to a recent poll conducted by Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador John Heald on his popular Facebook page.
Passengers who have had the chance to try the food at this casual, counter-service restaurant love that they can enjoy its big flavors all day. Breakfast items are even served until 3 p.m. too.

Carnival cruisers want Shaq’s Big Chicken on more ships
“Can we have more ships with Shaq’s Big Chicken?” an unidentified passenger asked Heald on his Facebook page. “It has taken over as the number one treat for our family and beaten the burger.”
An onboard outpost of the fast casual chicken restaurant founded by Carnival’s Chief Fun Officer, former basketball star, and entertainer Shaquille O’Neal, Big Chicken serves up crave-worthy chicken sandwiches, breakfast chicken biscuits, and other classics on four Carnival cruise ships.
Heald included the passenger’s request for more Big Chicken in a poll for his Facebook followers, and more than 5,000 Carnival cruisers indicated that they love the restaurant and agree that it should be featured on more Carnival ships.

“After going on an Excel ship this summer and trying Shaq’s chicken it is hands down my favorite quick service spot for lunch on the ship. I would love to see it added across the entire fleet,” Jared VanMersbergen wrote in the comments on the poll.
The poll also revealed that even more passengers, more than 6,500, have never tried Shaq’s Big Chicken but would love to experience it on one of their next cruises.
Currently, Big Chicken is only available on Carnival’s Excel-class ships, Celebration, Jubilee, and Mardi Gras, as well as Carnival Radiance. It’s not as widely available across the fleet as another popular onboard dining spot that serves up cruise food favorites created in partnership with another big personality.
Passengers have lots of love for Guy’s Burger Joint too
Some passengers would love to see more ships offer Shaq’s Big Chicken alongside Guy’s Burger Joint, a staple on nearly all Carnival cruise ships. Created in partnership with Food Network personality and restaurateur Guy Fieri, Guy’s Burger Joint serves up what some cruisers consider the best burgers at sea.
In the comments on the post, a number of Carnival cruisers made it clear that they don’t want to lose Guy’s Burger Joint in order to bring Shaq’s Big Chicken to more ships.
“Love Shaq’s but don’t replace Guy’s,” Barbara Stover Becker commented.
“Where is the poll that says more Shaq’s chicken but definitely not better than Guy’s,” Lisa Johnson chimed in.

For many passengers, having both of the popular casual dining spots on board would be ideal.
“Yes to more Shaq’s chicken. Love the meals there. Also love Guy’s so having both options on the ships is great,” Mandy Forbes commented.
“Big Chicken and Guy’s Burgers should be on all ships,” Alex Wozney agreed.
