Logan Thompson is about to earn a big payday from the Washington Capitals.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Monday that the Capitals and Thompson are closing in on a long-term contract extension.

The deal for the Capitals goaltender is expected to be six years with an average annual value of $5.85 million.

Thompson has enjoyed a stellar season in Washington with a 22-2-3 record, a 2.09 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage.

The Capitals acquired Thompson from the Vegas Golden Knights last June for a third-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
