Youtube Documentary maker Archipel announced an upcoming project that will involve NieR series director Yoko Taro. There is currently no release date for the video, which Archipel has described as being editorial in nature, but more details are promised "soon." Archipel is a two-person outfit that makes documentaries about various Japanese creatives and pieces of media, often featuring interviews with the people involved. Previous videos covered topics such as the development of Metaphor: Refantazio, the art direction of the Final Fantasy series, and even the difficulty of running a ramen restaurant during the COVID-19 pandemic. The videos are then put up for free on the Archipel Youtube channel, while the team itself is supported primarily via Patreon. Yoko Taro is known as the director of the JRPG series Nier, including Nier: Automata. He is known for his eclectic style and for appearing in public wearing a large mask. The announcement of their collaboration came via the Archipel Twitter account which Yoko Taro then retweeted with an attached emoticon.
