For avid gamers and anyone looking to get into a new hobby, a good gaming PC or laptop can change your life. If you're used to buying consoles every five or 10 years, and paying about $70 per game, you're probably deterred by the considerable upfront investment cost of a PC. But maybe you're underestimating just how much you'll end up saving on the games themselves, which are always going on sale for prices you'd likely never see on the Nintendo eShop, Xbox Store, or PlayStation. I finally pulled the trigger on an MSI gaming rig a couple of years ago, and I don't think I'll ever look back.

The good news is you don't have to drop thousands of dollars to get in on the fun. Right now, Walmart is selling a powerful MSI Thin 15 144Hz Gaming Laptop for $649 at Walmart, and there's almost no limit to the kind or number of games you can play on it.

Get it.

The MSI Thin 15 weighs just four pounds and features a 15.6-inch 144Hz high-def display. This is ideal for playing the latest performance-intensive games on medium or high settings, and the obvious appeal of a laptop is its marriage of portability and everyday practicality. You can work on a gaming laptop; you can use it for all the stuff you might typically do on your phone; and you can enjoy the vast majority of games.

With an Intel Core i5-13420H processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card, you'll find that there are very few games this laptop can't handle smoothly, especially given the 16:9 1080p display. Most console games are rendered at about 60 frames per second on a television, but this laptop is equipped with a 144Hz screen, so you can expect a large number of games to be displayed at 120 or 144 frames per second.

If you're curious about PC gaming but don't want to dive straight into the deep end with a pricey desktop rig, a laptop can be a great entry-level alternative with a lot of practical benefits as well. Battery life can suffer when playing performance-intensive games on a laptop, but MSI is pretty synonymous with quality, and you can expect about five hours of quality gaming time between charges.

If you're ready to experience higher frame rates and access to more games than ever, save $351 on the MSI Thin 15 Gaming Laptop at Walmart and see what you've been missing.
