Lichen Presents its 2-Tier Console in New Cherry Wood Configuration
As Lichen — the Ridgewood, Queens-based design incubator and studio — has grown and changed since being founded in 2017, its 2-Tier Console has evolved alongside it. One of Lichen's most popular recurring in-house products, the 2-Tier Console began as a plywood design before becoming a solid wood creation manufactured at the company's in-house Brooklyn wood shop. Now, it's entering yet another new chapter with the release of a fresh cherry wood iteration. The creation of the updated console was spurred by the learnings that the Lichen team took away from the numerous batches they'd produced in years prior. Noticing a handful of "inefficiencies and waste" in its production methods, Lichen switched the console's material to a solid cherry wood build. Also, Lichen began producing the unit with a new metal bracket design that allows it to easily be flat-packed — a design tweak that ensures easy transportation while moving, something anyone who lives in a significant city likely knows all too much about. The table measures 59'L, 17.5'D and 18'H, and, though it can store whatever you choose to place on it, was imagined to be a resting place for a television set, record collection or magazines/books. Lichen has also produced an assembly video with step-by-step instructions that shows you how to build the table and break it down.If you're looking to add the Lichen 2-Tier console in Cherry Wood to your home, you can do so now via the Lichen website or its Ridgewood showroom (564 Woodward Ave, Ridgewood, NY, 11385, open 12-5 Saturday and Sunday). The unit is priced at $899 USD.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
