Before winning the Grammy for Best Pop Group/Duo with Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga offered a mea culpa for Joker: Folie À Deux in the form of a new music video. The video for "Abracadabra" was an unexpected burst of weirdness from Gaga, debuting during a commercial break in tonight's Grammys as if it was another ad.

More than a plug for MasterCard, the video is the second single from her upcoming album, Mayhem, due on March 7, 2025. Now, before we start hearing from the Steve Miller contingent of the commentariat, this is not a cover of Steve Miller Band's "Abracadabra." Gaga's "Abracadabra" was choreographed by Parris Goebel, directed by Gaga and Bethany Vargas, and includes a quick plug for MasterCard, which presumably handed over its ad buy for the night to Gaga to do with it what she will.

Gaga won Best Pop Group/Duo Performance for "Die With A Smile." In her brief acceptance speech, Lady Gaga called attention to the transgender community, which we would've expected to hear from more artists this awards season. "Trans people are not invisible," Lady Gaga said. "Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love, thank you."
