Dassai Mirai and KIX Duty Free unveil Kansai Airport-exclusive limited-edition sake

JAPAN. KIX Duty Free has partnered with Japanese premium sake brand Dassai Mirai for an exclusive release at Kansai International Airport.

The limited-edition Dassai 23 is available solely at the retailer’s international departures store in Terminal 1, Level 2.

This Junmai Daiginjo sake is made exclusively from Yamada Nishiki rice sourced from Kansai’s Hyogo and Shiga prefectures. The name ‘23’ refers to its rice polishing ratio, whereby the rice is polished down to 23% of its original size.

This refined process enhances purity, producing a sake with elegant floral notes and a smooth, honeyed flavour profile.

The sake is presented in a Yoshino cedar wooden box, reflecting the region’s artisanal traditions.

The release precedes the grand opening of the renovated Terminal 1 on 27 March, marking the latest milestone after the successful completion of Phase 1 (the new domestic area) in 2022 and Phase 2 (the new international area) in December 2023.
