Britain’s Mike Tyson warned to avoid ‘life and death’ fight with powerful rival to keep unbeaten record

Moses Itauma has surprisingly been urged to avoid a fight with British rival David Adeleye. Itauma is considered one of the hottest prospects in boxing right now, and has been knocking out practically any opponent that stands in his way in the heavyweight division so far. Itauma has the world at his feet at the age of just 20Getty He has won all 11 of his professional fights to date, and made the biggest statement of his career so far when knocking out Demsey McKean in one round in December. The Briton himself came into the professional ranks eyeing a shot at breaking heavyweight legend Mike Tyson‘s record as the youngest ever world champion in the division aged 20. Although he appears to have missed out on the record, Itauma has attracted huge plaudits and comparisons to Tyson given his ferocious and powerful style. The 20-year-old has yet to lose and has an aura of invincibility around him having yet to be tested around the fringes of world level. A raft of options appear to be on the table for Itauma, but ex-world champion Duke McKenzie believes it shouldn’t be a fight with Adeleye lined up in 2025. “He’s unbelievably talented but I’m not sure if these talks of a fight with David Adeleye are true,” Mckenzie told talkSPORT.com. “Bad move, style makes fights. If I was Itauma’s handlers, I would go in a different direction. “That Adeleye would give him life or death right now. And I’m not sure he needs that kind of fight. “Everybody Itauma has fought he has knocked out and looked sensational doing it. But they can’t fight. “None of them hit him back. The difference between Adeleye and Itauma right now is he knows what it is like to lose. Adeleye has been tipped as the man to stop his sharp riseGetty “Does he want to lose again? Absolutely not. He will train wildly for the Itauma fight. “He’s young, he is the right side of 30 and he will give Itauma problems, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he beat him.” Adeleye is another powerful British heavyweight making his rise in the sport. Unfortunately his 12-fight unbeaten streak was halted by Fabio Wardley last year, who halted him with a stunning KO. The contender has been forced to go back to the drawing board, but after linking up with a new trainer in Adam Booth, he feels reborn. His comeback fight came in a stunning KO win over Solomon Dacres, putting on a clinical display to ensure his name stays right in the mix. Itauma is leaving opponents in his wake and now faces a big 2025Getty And if he was to step in with Itauma, it could well be the most challenging opposition for the rising star of his pro career so far. Itauma has big plans for 2025 and could well be thrust into a world title eliminator against Justis Huni with the WBO, having pushed up the rankings to No.6. And his promoter Francis Warren confirmed he has a number of potential opponents on the table, with intentions to fight three times in 2025. He said: “Yeah there is moving parts, you know what business is like, it could change tomorrow. “Moses is set to fight again in April before any interim title fight is discussed. “The Huni fight, the reason he is specifically being targeted is because they are ranked at No.5, or No.6 in the world rankings. “Filip Hrgovic, Otto Wallin, Huni that is the fight that is being talked about, and Charles Martin is another great name on our radar. “But the fact is Moses is 20 in his second year as a professional, and he is already being talked about fighting some of the big guys.” Follow talkBOXING on social media talkBOXING is now on Twitter and Facebook.
